Welcome to Myophlage
With this course you will venture into the world of healing as you learn to listen with your hands, engage the tissues and interact in a manner that will lead to true healing.
The goal of this course is to enable you to sense motion as well as emotion. You will learn how to create harmony where there is cacophony and promote peace and tranquility where there is turmoil.
Myophlage incorporates myofascial release with direct action technique to produce long lasting results quickly. It is ideal for the practitioner who is either frustrated with being unable to relieve patients’ pain or who just want to upgrade the quality of their treatments. This is an opportunity for the serious practitioner to create a healing encounter with his/her patient. Participants will learn to treat back pain, neck pain, TMJ and postural muscles.
· The key principle is to “know the flow, find the flow and go with the flow.”
· The martial artists seem to have gotten the idea first.
Great minds also saw the value of listening:
1. Dr. Sigmund Freud who taught the value of listening and psycho-analysis;
2. Dr. Andrew Taylor Still popularized the notion that the body has the innate ability to heal itself
3. Dr. William Garner Sutherland originated the cranial concept.
· Today, going with the flow seems to be the predominant method we use to help others as well as ourselves to deal with so much of life be it anger, joy, pain, fear, trauma, success and uncertainty.
· While Myophlage recognizes the value of “going with the flow”, it also recognizes the need to interact, interject and sometimes to interfere.
· The key feature is not to interject but to be present to the innate wisdom that lies deep within the tissues and allow the soul to predominate. You will need to maintain focus on observing - NOT talking.
· We are imbued by our creator with the innate ability to heal ourselves. To heal ourselves requires nutrition, rest, exercise, stress management, love and acceptance. When our lives become imbalanced, for whatever reason, we then need the help of trained healers to facilitate the process and in cases of crisis, physicians will be necessary.
